Amanda Seyfried on a Jennifer's Body sequel - "Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready"
Important to note: Seyfried is talking to horror movie producers. She knows you and I have been ready for a Jennifer's Body sequel for 15 years

Amanda Seyfried would very much like to do a Jennifer's Body sequel.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Mean Girls star looked back on the film which saw her play opposite Megan Fox. Along with claiming that a sequel to the demon possession horror comedy is actively in the works now (!!), Seyfried spoke about her desire to return as her character, Anita "Needy" Lesnicki.
"I think that Karyn [Kusama, director] and Diablo [Cody, screenwriter] were a really good team," says Seyfried. "And Megan and I are a really good team. I’m looking forward to the sequel [...] They’re working on it. I already said thumbs up. I was like, 'Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready.'"
Yes, Seyfried is 100% in favor of returning, and she makes it clear that she'd love to get back in the Satanic saddle with the same team and themes that brought the first film together. However, it does seem that if Seyfried would one change about this upcoming movie: that is, the marketing.
"The marketing sucked," Seyfried said, "It just did. And we all agree."
In saying this, Seyfried is touching on an opinion long held in the horror community. Though beloved now, the film didn't end up doing incredible box office numbers, and legions of fans have attributed this to the movie's marketing. Aimed at attracting the male gaze rather than standing on its campy nature or strong themes, the movie didn't turn out to be what viewers thought they were getting into.
The silver lining to that cloud, however, is that Jennifer's Body was relegated to the "obscure" category of movies, which is a fertile ground for fan rediscovery. Its resurgence in popular culture has cemented the film's coveted cult classic status, continually introducing new fans to its demonic lore and providing a sense of justice to the early adapters who were defending the film out of the gate.
If you think about it, being overly sexualized but then returning to wreak horrific vengeance is not just what happened in the movie Jennifer's Body, but it's what happened to it as well. We don't have the time to write a whole thinkpiece on what that means for the movie or the genre that it calls home, but we can say this:
Woe to those who would wrong it again in the sequel.
