John Boyega is working on a secret film project involving swords, which has given him a chance to utilize his lightsaber training from the Star Wars franchise.
“Funny enough, I’m taking the lessons I learned in Star Wars, but now the lightsaber is a sword,” Boyega says. “I prefer the lightsaber. But with a sword, the movements and stuff that I will have to learn for the training of these projects are quite similar to lightsaber fighting and defense. That’s been something I’ve taken from as a skill set to learn how to be a warrior and stuff.”
No word on what the project is, but Boyega gave some hints. “It’s swords, arrows, horses. All of that. Young Russell Crowe, think of that. It’s that kind of epic feel, but with an intimate story.”
Honestly, I’m just glad Boyega is getting a chance to put his lightsaber training to good use.
