Monogatari fans have been eating mighty well recently – not only are we getting an anime adaptation of both the “Off Season” and “Monster Season” light novels during the Summer 2024 anime season, but we’re also finally getting to watch Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp on the big screen thanks to a licensing deal with Crunchyroll.

If you’re new to the Monogatari series and aren’t sure where Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp fits into the winding, unwieldy timeline of the series, that is understandable. Monogatari regards chronology in the same way most people regard the speed limit on the interstate – it is more of a guideline than anything else. Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp is a collection of three short films that adapted the second light novel in Nisio Isin’s series and is a prequel to the first, Bakemonogatari.

Crunchyroll has announced that they’ll be screening Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp in the US, Mexico, and Australia this summer. Each release will only be for a single day, so don’t miss out on seeing the compilation of Monogatari films on the big screen while you can.

The release dates for Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp are:

  • North America: August 28, 2024
  • Australia: September 5, 2024

Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp follows high school student Koyomi Araragi, who encounters the ridiculously-named Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-Blade at her lowest point. The legendary and powerful vampire lies in a pool of her own blood as her legs and arms have been torn off. Still, Koyomi finds her beautiful and their meeting starts him down a strange path.

Crunchyroll is screening Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp in North America on August 28, 2024 while Australian fans will have to wait until September 5, 2024 to see the surreal but undeniably compelling entry in the Monogatari series.
