The M3GAN 2.0 teaser is here, and I am neither online or Gen Z enough to report on it
Don't get me wrong, I'm here for it, but the M3GAN 2.0 teaser trailer just released by Blumhouse makes me feel old
Popverse's top stories of the day
- With Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World imminent, I'm just happy to see a Hulk that's a monster again

"Slay, queen." Doesn't just reading that under a picture of my face make it sound awkward?
Nevertheless, Blumhouse has released the first teaser trailer for upcoming sequel M3GAN 2.0, and it is my solemn responsibility as both a pop culture journalist and resident horror expert around these parts to report that it does, in fact, slay. Slay, queen.
Check it out, with my sincere apologies, below.
It's not much, sure, but to borrow another phrase that makes me sounds like a school counselor telling you not to use drugs, it's a teaser that understands the assignment. Blumhouse's first M3GAN film, directed by Gerard Johnstone and written by Akela Cooper, created a sweeping meme culture around the titular robot, partially because of the liberal use in promos of her TikTok dance scene. As you can see from the trailer above, Blumhouse remembers the chord the first movie struck and with whom, and is bringing back the killer moves for this round of advertising.
Whether she'll actually be doing them in the movie remains to be seen, but even if she doesn't, this trailer proves that Blumhouse knows exactly who'll be seeing this film. Which, I want to clarify, will be myself, though I will be keeping my mouth shut, my undancing butt in the seat, and my painkillers close.
I have a strong feeling I'll be walking away from this film with my back in some pain.
M3GAN 2.0 makes its way into theaters (and hopefully the retirement home I'll be in by then) June 27.
