The new trailer for M3GAN 2.0 has dropped, and for everyone who hoped that the second installment in the series could be as wild as the original — good news. This one looks set to lean into all the tropes you could want and then some, including the Britney Spears song you’ve been hoping for, the obvious upgrade, and another evil robot altogether.
The set-up of the new movie is gloriously campy: the plans for M3GAN were stolen to create an unstoppable weapon called Amelia (Ahsoka’s Ivanna Sakhno), who quickly evolves past her programming to become a threat to Gemma (Allison Williams) and Cady (Violet McGraw)… which means that the fiercely protective M3GAN needs to be rebuilt, upgraded, and pressed into service as a good guy to save the day. Of course, that’s not really going to go to plan, is it…?

The creative team from the first movie — including producers Jason Blum and James Wan, and director Gerard Johnstone — are back for this second outing, alongside returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, and Jenna Davis (the latter the voice of M3GAN herself) and newcomers to the franchise Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jermaine Clement.
M3GAN 2.0 will make the summer better when it hits theaters June 27.
