Marvel Studios' Human Torch actor Joseph Quinn describes what it was like to see himself in the Fantastic Four suit for the first time

Joseph Quinn loved the way Marvel’s Fantastic Four costumes looked on him and his castmates

There’s nothing quite like getting a new outfit and seeing how it looks on you.

When you’re an actor in a Marvel Studios film, that feeling is multiplied tenfold. We recently got our first look at the FF in Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps teaser trailer, and man, those costumes are gorgeous! The blue really pops, and it reminds me of their classic Jack Kirby costumes.

It turns out the cast was pretty excited too. Joseph Quinn, who plays the Human Torch, recently made an appearance at Megacon 2025, where he spoke about the upcoming film.

Quinn was asked what his reaction was when he first saw himself in the suit, and his answer was classic Johnny Storm. “I’ve got to do some sit-ups,” Quinn quipped.

“I’ve been training a lot for it, and all of that stuff, and that was good fun. That was kind of reassuring, and then seeing everyone else in their Lycra was exciting. We were kind of in the tech costume fittings and trying to finesse it, and I was so excited.”

Quinn, we’re excited too. Seeing those costumes in action has definitely hyped me up for the film.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters July 25, 2025.
