Marvel Studios to skip its traditional Hall H panel for San Diego Comic-Con 2025

Earlier this week, we shared that DC Studios is planning to center its San Diego Comic-Con presentation around the upcoming Peacemaker TV show — and now, we find out that Marvel Studios is planning to skip its traditional Hall H presentation for SDCC 2025 entirely.
Per the Hollywood Reporter’s weekly Heat Vision newsletter, Marvel has decided that, with Avengers: Doomsday now pushed until December 2026 and the movie currently in production, it “didn’t feel like the right timing for a Hall H panel,” especially considering that Doomsday promotion can now be shifted until next year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
That doesn’t mean that there won’t be any Marvel presence at the show at all; THR says that the company will have “a massive footprint in the San Diego Convention Center, with a fully redesigned and immersive booth that leans into the release of Fantastic Four. And there could be some surprises in store, as well.” But those surprises won’t include a Hall H panel like last year’s, which saw the reveal of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, as well as appearances from the casts of Captain America: Brave New World, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Thunderbolts*.
It should also be noted that, as with 2024, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con coincides with the release of a Marvel Studios movie; last year, that meant a surprise screening of Deadpool and Wolverine on the first night of the convention. Could a similar thing be planned for this year and The Fantastic Four: First Steps? Stay tuned for more details as they emerge. (Popverse will be at the show, no matter what happens.)
This isn’t the first time San Diego Comic-Con has been absent a Marvel Hall H panel — that’s previously happened in 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2023, although the last of those was due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes taking place that year that closed down a significant amount of movie promotion.
San Diego Comic-Con 2025 takes place July 24 through July 27, with a preview night July 23. The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens July 25.
