Will Millie Bobby Brown join the MCU? Maybe - but to "hundreds of dogs," the Stranger Things star is already a hero
While promoting Netflix film The Electric State, which stars Brown, Joe & Anthony Russo revealed that, yes, they could see a Marvel role for Stranger Things' Eleven. But more importantly, they highlighted the actor's real life good deeds

It is a time of rebirth for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the actors and characters that brought us into the Infinity Saga are stepping aside for a new crop of Marvel Comics heroes to be adapted to the big screen. You'll recall Popverse's reporting on Stranger Things's Sadie Sink joining the cast of Spider-Man 4, for example. And now, another name from the Netflix hit has got Marvel diehards turning their heads, especially after a recent conversation from some of the MCU's leading creatives.
We're talking about Avengers: Endgame directors Joe & Anthony Russo, who just went on record detailing the possibility of a Millie Bobby Brown role in the MCU.
The conversation occurred during the Russo's promotion of Netflix original The Electric State, which stars Brown as an orphaned teen traveling across America in the aftermath of a human/robot war. At one point during the discussion, an Entertainment Tonight interviewer asked if Brown was being considered for a role in the brothers' "next project," which MCU fans know is Avengers: Doomsday
"Millie is on the list for every project," Joe Russo was quick to respond, "You just can't ask for a bigger star right now. And [she is] somebody who is passionate about the work, passionate about promoting the movie, passionate about getting up every day and coming to set, making the crew feel good."
In particular, Brown brings joy to the set by bringing along some special friends: a pack of pups.
"She has adopted hundreds of dogs," Russo continued. "She brings them to set with her; it is like everybody is having an emotional care day with the dogs."
Sure, "hundreds" of dogs is somewhat of an exaggeration (these people make Avengers movies, they do things with flair), however, Brown's work getting dogs into forever homes is not an exaggeration in the least. NYCC '24 attendees will recall her discussing it at Netflix's Electric State panel, during which co-star Chris Pratt called her a "puppy hustler" for the way she got adopted dogs to new, loving families. Earlier that same year, Brown appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show (reported on by People) to reveal that she was, at the time, fostering 23 dogs, along with the 10 that she calls her own.
"She is just lovely," concludes Joe Russo, a sentiment likely shared by any pet lovers reading this article. "Yeah, we will put her in anything."
So there you go, acting hopefuls: You want to get a role in a Marvel movie? Start being good to dogs. Although, speaking as the owner of a beloved corgi (hello if you're reading this), it's the latter that matters a whole lot more.
The Electric State is streaming on Netflix now. Joe & Anthony Russo's Avengers: Doomsday comes to theaters (with a possible cameo from Millie Bobby Brown) May 1, 2026.
