Samuel L. Jackson's favorite Nick Fury MCU moment was the "bad*ss sh*t" he pulled in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The actor has played Nick Fury since 2008's Iron Man, so he's got lots of cool scenes to choose from.

While the MCU has grown and grown over the years, one man has always been at the center of it all. No, we’re not talking about Robert Downey Jr. – we’re talking about Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson. From the moment he conspicuously mentioned “The Avengers Initiative” in that first after-credits scene in Iron Man, Jackson has been one of the few constants in the MCU. Now, he’s revealed his favorite moment in the franchise’s history.

In a wide-ranging interview with GQ, Samuel L. Jackson said that the car scene with Nick Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier was his all-time favorite scene for the character. You know the one – Hydra agents have surrounded Fury in his car, so he has to fire up his defenses (which is a machine gun cause why not?), inject himself with an antithetic, and eventually cut his way out of the car and to safety.

“I mean, that’s like quintessential Nick Fury,” Samuel L. Jackson explained. “It’s like, okay. No panic. He’s cool, figuring out, you know, make the next move, make the next move, make the next move. Bad*ss. Bad*ss sh*t.”
It is easy to see what he means. In a movie where Nick Fury is meant to be down and out – and presumed dead for a lot of its runtime – it is clear that he still has a plan. Even if sometimes that plan is just to try to survive for the next five minutes, this is why he has been able to save the world a dozen times over. Nick Fury simply gets the job done.
