New Nosferatu character posters are the creepiest yet... but we still don't know what Bill Skarsgård's Count Orlok looks like

Some stunningly sinister character posters for Lily-Rose Depp's Ellen Hutter, Nicholas Hoult's Thomas Hutter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin's Anna Harding and Willem Dafoe's Professor von Franz are the latest bit of marketing for Robert Eggers's Nosferatu remake

It's Halloween, and Focus Features has a little surprise for all you cinema-hungry trick-or-treaters tonight. THe studio has released not one, but three new character posters for the upcoming Nosferatu remake directed by The VVitch's Robert Eggers (I'll be dead in the cold ground before I put a 'W' in that title). Check out the new ads at the bottom of this post, along with all you need to know about them beforehand.

Depicted in this latest round of posters are, in no particular order, Lily-Rose Depp's Ellen Hutter, Nicholas Hoult's Thomas Hutter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin's Anna Harding, and Willem Dafoe's Professor Albin Eberhart von Franz. Each of these characters are featured in the original 1922 Nosferatu directed by F.W. Murnau, and since that film is a shameless ripoff of Bram Stoker's cornerstone vampire tale, have their counterparts in the Dracula lore. Ellen Hutter is essentially a clone of Mina Murray/Harker, Thomas Hutter is Jonathan Harker, Friedrich Harding is the story's Arthur Holmwood, Anna Harding is Lucy Westenra, and Professor Albin Eberhart von Franz, as you could probably guess, is the celebrated Abraham Van Helsing in a slightly different guise.

Who doesn't appear in any of these posters is Nosferatu's titular Dracula standin, the uncanny and undead Count Orlok, to be played by Bill Skarsgård in the upcoming film. But that's no surprise - glimpses of Skarsgård's Count have been fleeting at best during the marketing of this film, despite the fact that costar Nicholas Hoult has been talking up the look for months.

"He’s terrifying," Hoult told IndieWire in September, "It’s not Bill [...] That’s what’s so worrying about it. He gives a truly transformative performance where there is not anything of Bill left and it’s scary and intimidating. His voice, his physicality, I mean the makeup he has, it’s really a wonderful character and he did beautiful character work with it."

Alas, it appears the Nosferatu's marketing team is saving Skarsgård's villainous visage for the movie's premiere. Then again, that's kind of a special thing in a world where trailers reveal too much (any Venom: The Last Dance fans in the house?). Count Orlok gets to linger in the shadows for a little longer before terrifying the world with his true form. Sounds like exactly what a vampire would want.

Nosferatu comes to theaters across the Us on December 25, 2025. Check out the new character posters below.

In the immortal words of Danny Elfman, "Life's no fun without a good scare." We couldn't agree more, which is why we think you should check out horror aficionado Greg Silber's list of the best horror movies of all time. Or, if you've already seen those classics, check out our list of the most underrated horror movies from the past couple years. And if you've already seen all of those, Let us tell you what to look forward to (or dread) in Popverse's list of upcoming horror movies.
