The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal says what we're all thinking as he tells Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling and her transphobe movement where to stick it
Pedro Pascal proves he's already superhero material by defending the trans community from a woman with too much money and not enough morals

There is no denying that Pedro Pascal has found himself in the enviable position of being one of the biggest stars in Hollywood at the moment. Between The Last of Us, Mandalorian and Grogu, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, he is leading three huge projects on both the big and small screen in the next 12 months. With that amount of influence, he is proving he’s ready to stick up for the most vulnerable people by defending trans people, even against the likes of notable transphobe and author J.K. Rowling.
We thought that we couldn’t love Pedro Pascal more – and then he showed up to the Thunderbolts* London red carpet in a Protect The Dolls shirt, showing his support for trans people around the world (Note that dolls is an affectionate term for trans people). This came just days after the UK’s Supreme Court ruled that trans women would not be considered women under UK law. That ruling was celebrated by Rowling, who has spent the influence (and no small amount of money) she gained writing the Harry Potter series to harass trans people both at home and abroad rather than make the world a better place.
Rowling reacted to the court ruling by posting a picture of herself on social media with the caption, “I love it when a plan comes together." in a reference to The A-Team's leader's iconic catchphrase, adding the hashtags #SupremeCourt and #WomensRights to make it clear what she was celebrating.
First of all, Joanne, you’re not Colonel Jon 'Hannibal' Smith, so get his words out of your mouth. Second, if you were a better writer, you could come up with your own catchphrase. Just sayin'.

Fortunately, Pascal wasn’t done. He commented on a video decrying Rowling’s part in the anti-trans movement with the words “Awful disgusting SHIT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”
This isn’t the first time that Pedro Pascal has proven to be a real one. In addition to being an outspoken supporter of LGBTQ+ people, including his sister who is trans, he has been outspoken in his support for his The Last of Us co-star Bella Ramsey, who is non-binary. It is honestly refreshing to see a star willing to do something worthwhile with his immense influence. It would be too easy for Pascal to shy away from public displays of support for vulnerable people for the sake of his career. Instead, he shows what a real superhero does: they defend those who need defending.
