Disney's Predator franchise goes to feudal Japan, World War II, & the Viking era in new movie Killer of Killers

Prey director Dan Trachtenberg returns to the franchise with animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers

Here's something we never saw coming: Dan Trachtenberg's upcoming Predator movie is animated! While we knew that Trachtenberg had another Predator movie in the works, set sometime in the past, it was assumed that it would be a sequel to Prey. While I definitely wanted to see more live-action period piece Predator movies, I'll settle for Trachtenberg's Predator: Killer of Killers, because it looks like a bloody good time.

Disney revealed that Predator: Killer of Killers will be dropping on Hulu on June 6, 2025. Trachtenberg, who you might know from 10 Cloverfield Lane, was joined by Josh Wassung of The Third Floor as a co-director. The company describes it as an "anthology story" that "follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge; a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession; and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers." You can check out the gory first look trailer for the movie below.

Predator fans are eating well these days. Footage of the upcoming Predator: Badlands movie with Elle Fanning was unveiled last week at CinemaCon. While Badlands is sadly not set in the past, it tells the story of a warrior in the future (Fanning) who has to team up with a Yautja - not unlike Alien vs. Predator. Lots to look forward to!
