Tom Holland's Spider-Man returns to the MCU in 2026's Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The official title and release date for Tom Holland's next Spider-Man movie were announced by Sony at CinemaCon 2025

As if Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse's release date wasn’t enough Spider-news from Sony’s CinemaCon 2025 presentation wasn’t enough, the studio also revealed the title for the next Tom Holland outing as the MCU’s wall-crawler… and it’s one that has a particular resonance for comic book fans.

As rumored, Holland and Zendaya will return to co-star with Spider-Verse newcomer Sadie Sink in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, to be released in theaters July 31, 2026. Plot details for the movie of course remain under wraps for now, but the movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s 2021 Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

To accompany the title reveal, there was also a logo reveal for the movie:

‘Brand New Day’ isn’t just the first Tom Holland Spider-Man movie that doesn’t feature the word ‘home’ in the title — Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home being the subtitles of the actor’s first three solo Spider-Man movies — it’s also a title that was used by Marvel for its comic book relaunch of the character back in 2008. That relaunch reset the character’s status quo in such a way that restored many traditional elements of the Spider-mythos, including his being employed by the Daily Bugle, his friendship with Harry Osborn, and the character’s complicated love life after decades of being married to Mary Jane Watson.

When movie audiences last saw the MCU Peter Parker, he’d been through a reset of his own, having magically erased all knowledge of Peter Parker from the world, including his closest friends. That’s definitely one way of having a Brand New Day, but we’ll have to wait until July next year to find out exactly what the title means this time around. Even the normally loose-lipped Holland wasn’t giving anything away, telling the CinemaCon audience via video appearance that the movie “is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say. That’s all I’ve been allowed to say. And I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will go into production this summer, and hit theaters July 31, 2026.
