Spider-Man 4 starring Tom Holland is real, it's happening, and we have a release date

Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton will direct Spider-Man 4, starring Tom Holland.

The saga of Peter Parker is set to continue in the MCU. After the smash success of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 - which feels like forever ago - Tom Holland will officially be back in the suit for a fourth Spider-Man film. The full title for the film has not been announced yet, but I would imagine it would probably be in keeping with the "Home" theme of the Holland Spidey films.

Spider-Man 4 will release on July 24, 2026, as per a report from The Hollywood Reporter. Destin Daniel Cretton, who was previously signed on to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty before the Jonathan Majors situation, will direct Spider-Man 4. Cretton also directed Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings, which also came out in 2021. The director has established himself as a rock solid creative force within the MCU.

There are many questions surrounding a forth Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Considering that No Way Home ended with everyone in Peter's life forgetting who he was, is this the fresh start that some Spider-Man comic book fans have been yearning to see? Thus far, Tom Holland's stint as Spider-Man has been characterized by Peter Parker's relationship to Tony Stark in the MCU. Perhaps with Tony dead now, and Peter's supporting cast no longer in his life, his character will go back to his street-level roots.

But who's to say if any of this will come to pass, because this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all. We're still waiting on that Blade movie, which lost its November 2025 release date just a few days ago. For now, we can just speculate on possible titles for the fourth Spider-Man film. Spider-Man: Homeward Bound? Spider-Man: Homeless? Spider-Man: Homewrecker? We'll just have to wait and see.

Turns out, it was New York Comic Con all along – as the place to meet Wanda and Vision themselves, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany! Limited Thursday NYCC 2024 tickets are still on sale, and then make sure to scoop your Photo Op with them for bragging rights on the ‘gram.
