Former Boba Fett child actor Daniel Logan would challenge fans who based the Star Wars prequel trilogy to fights in parking lots, the actor admits

Star Wars actor Daniel Logan had his own way of dealing with the haters

Star Wars shaped many of our childhoods. However, for Daniel Logan, the impact was enormous. The child actor was cast as young Boba Fett for the 2002 film Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Logan was only 13, and he soon found himself navigating stardom, adolescence, and the toxic side of fandom.

During a spotlight panel at GalaxyCon Richmond, Logan reminisced about his early interactions with Star Wars fandom. “When I first started in Star Wars, it was only original fans. If you guys remember, Jake Lloyd and me were the only two kids in Star Wars. You would have people walk by and go, ‘Oh, there goes that crappy kid that played Boba Fett.’ And I’m like [makes confused childlike face]. And they’re like, ‘Oh dude, he sucked. Episode II was the worst Star Wars film.’ Fans don’t realize, they’ll come up and be like, ‘Hi Mr. Logan. You were in Episode II and that was the worst film of Star Wars.’ And you’re just like, ‘Oh, thanks.’ What do you say to that?”

Logan had his own way of dealing with the haters, which made his managers nervous.

“I grew up with two big brothers and to put it politely, they beat my ass my whole life. I grew up pretty tough, and when I came into the world, I had the keyboard warriors like, ‘Oh, you suck!’ I didn’t realize now I’m a celebrity I guess, so I just went to, ‘Oh yeah? Come and say that in a parking lot. Meet me right here and we could talk about it. I’ll beat your ass!’”

“My manager was like, ‘Daniel, what are you doing? You can’t say that! That is now forever written.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t care! They said this about me!’ And they’re like, ‘Yeah, it’s just someone just saying their peace, you don’t need to go back against them.’ So, I had all these adults going, ‘This little Boba is a badass. Don’t mess with him! He really is Boba Fett.’”

Logan noted that his interactions with fandom have evolved. For one, he no longer threatens to fight the haters. He also said there has been a generational shift, as fans who grew up loving the prequels are now adults. Those fans are the ones he meets at conventions, and the experiences have been nothing but positive.
