Okay, we know that Sigourney Weaver will be part of Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu, but who will she be playing? For those not at Star Wars Celebration Japan to see the exclusive footage that was shown to the crowd — that’s, you know, most of us — writer Dave Filoni was happy to tease a few details about the new character being added to a galaxy far, far away.

“I’ve worn an X-Wing outfit, it’s not — look how good she looks in it, it’s incredible,” Filoni said during an appearance on the Star Wars Celebration live stage stream Friday morning. “As an X-Wing pilot, we’re lucky to have her as a leader. She’s someone in the Rebellion that understands what’s at stake with the Empire, and — “

At that point, Pedro Pascal “helpfully” stepped in to prevent him revealing too much. “Look what he did! Well, I’d tell you more, but Pedro said no,” Filoni joked.

Looks like we’ll have to wait for the movie’s May 2026 release — or at least some trailers for the movie in a few months’ time — to find out more. Unless someone can talk to Filoni when Pedro Pascal isn’t anywhere close by.
