The first trailer for the Stephen King/Mike Flanagan collab The Life of Chuck is purposefully lowkey, but don't worry: we still see Tom Hiddleston
The universe is large, just like the size of our desire to see this movie

It was already one of our most anticipated movies of 2025 just based on the people involved, but now that we’ve seen the purposefully obtuse, somewhat beautiful first teaser trailer for the project, it’s time to say it: Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck has us counting the seconds until its release.
Admittedly, the seconds-counting is helped by the ticking clock running through the minute-long tease, which purposefully avoids dialogue until Tom Hiddleston intones, appropriately dramatically, “The universe is large, and it contains multitudes, but it also contains… me.” Captions describe the movie as coming “from the mind of Stephen King and the heart and soul of Mike Flanagan,” which feels like the ultimate advertisement for the project.
Neon, which is distributing the movie, describes The Life of Chuck as “A life-affirming, genre-bending story based on Stephen King's novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.” Further details are purposefully being kept under wraps to avoid spoiling the project for the audience.
Beyond Hiddleston, the movie stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Mia Sara, Carl Lumbly, Benjamin Pajak, Jacob Tremblay, Mark Hamill, Heather Langenkamp and Popverse favorite Kate Siegel, and marks Flanagan’s third adaptation of King’s work after Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep.
The Life of Chuck will be released in US theaters May 30, 2025. Watch the trailer below.
