Superman's Fortress of Solitude shines bright in new footage from James Gunn's movie

James Gunn has shared the CinemaCon-exclusive expanded scene on social media ahead of it appearing in theaters with A Minecraft Movie this weekend

Any time there's a new Superman adaptation for the big screen, us Fans of Steel are left wondering what the core elements of the Superman mythos are going to look like. Whether it's Kal-El's family crest, his costume's trunks, The Daily Planet, or what have you, part of the fun of being a Superman fan is seeing how different artists reinterpret his core elements. Now, the wait is finally over for what the Fortress of Solitude looks like in James Gunn's Superman film, and I gotta say, I want to live there.

At CinemaCon, Warner Bros. dropped a few minutes of footage from the upcoming Superman film - footage that is also going to be attached to the release of A Minecraft Movie this weekend. Considering that A Minecraft Movie's target audience is children, this is hopefully going to be a way to get them onboard. I mean, who wouldn't be charmed by how adorable Krypto is here?

Even better, director James Gunn has released the scene officially on social media for people who don't have plans to head to the theater this weekend. Check the footage out below:

I'm not big on cold weather, but the rotating design of the Fortress of Solitude is making me reconsider my "no cold places" policy. Seeing how Kelex (or team of Kelexes?) knows to give Clark a good ol' dose of yellow sun energy through a magnifying glass and window, I'm now realizing that it's never occurred to me what they all do when the North Pole is dark for nearly a month each year. You know what? I'll keep these thoughts to myself, lest Lex Luthor get any ideas.

James Gunn's Superman is flying into theaters soon enough, and Popverse has all you need to prepare.
