A new month means new new TV shows and movies to stream on your favorite platform. September is just around the corner and Popverse has gone ahead and thrown together a list of what's coming to Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+ and more so that you don't have to. It's a pretty exciting list no matter what kind of fare you're in to, but don't just take our word for it. Dive in and learn What to Watch in September of 2024.

What's coming to Netflix in September 2024

Netflix is coming into fall swinging with a host of streaming projects that run the gamut in terms of tone and genre. For example, the quirky romantic comedy Emily in Paris is wrapping up the second half of its season 4 just one week before the Zack Snyder-produced Twilight of the Gods, a high-octane retelling of Norse Mythology. It's perfect for fans with a wide range in taste or, if Netflix is listening, an opportunity for an absolutely wild crossover.

Topping the list of Max offerings for September is the highly-anticipated continuation of Matt Reeves's The Batman universe, as the Colin Farrel-starring The Penguin takes center-stage. Yes, that's Colin Farrell sporting those uzis and wearing those prosthetics - an experience he told San Diego Comic Con was unlike anything else he'd done before as an actor.

Scandal and sensation seems to be the September theme on Hulu, both in the real and fictitious sense. Toxic couple Lucy and Stephen are back for a second season in Tell Me Lies, as reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives dives into the personal stories of a large group of prominent Mormon women. But if drama's not your thing, check out How to Die Alone - despite its rather depressing title, the show is actually a comedy.

Most likely a dark one.

Title Streaming Date Type
Tell Me Lies, season 2 September 4 Live-action series, Hulu original
Universal Basic Guys, season 1 September 9 Animated series
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, season 1 September 6 Reality series, Hulu original
How to Die Alone, season 1 September 13 Live-action series, Hulu original
The Old Man, season 2 September 13 Live-action series
Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal, season 1 September 24 Docuseries, Hulu original

What's coming to Disney+ in September 2024

And finally, September is a big streaming month for some of Disney's tentpole franchises, with entries into both the Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universes, respectively. Well, sort of. The MCU is expanding for sure with Agatha All Along, the witchy series that aims to introduce horror into their world of superheroes, but the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is not exactly an expansion of the Galaxy Far Far Away, as their LEGO projects are usually considered a separate beast.

Unless you want to count the LEGO Star Wars saga as canon, of course. And if you do, good for you.

Title Streaming Date Type
LEGO Pixar: BrickToons, season 1
September 4 Animated series, Disney+ original
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, season 1 September 13 Animated series, Disney+ original
Dancing With The Stars, season 33 September 17 Reality series
Agatha All Along, season 1 September 17 Live-action series, Disney+ original
Ayla and the Mirrors, season 1
September 27 Live-action series

What's coming to Apple TV+ in September 2024

Standing out among the Apple TV+ offerings for September of 2024 is Wolfs, a Jon Watts directed history of hitman hilarity. The film reunites Ocean's Eleven stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney to once again exchange one-liners on the wrong side of the law, and look good doing it. Admittedly, a story about killers that cross paths is likely darker than a bunch of charming thieves in Vegas, but we have to imagine we'll still get a chuckle or two out of this one... even if it's followed by a long, regretful sigh.

Title Streaming Date Type
Slow Horses, season 4 September 4 Live-action series, Apple TV+ original
Midnight Family September 24 Live-action series, Apple TV+ original
Wolfs September 27 Live-action movie, Apple TV+ original

As more streaming selections become available this month, we'll be updating this list to make sure you don't miss anything. Keep an eye on Popverse for all of your streaming updates.
