It Appears Venom 3's rating won't be what Tom Hardy hoped, and goes PG-13 instead of Rated-R
When your hero literally eats people, you can expect an adult rating to follow.

It has been a long and bloody road for Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote life-partner. The two have dealt with a lot so far, but the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance certainly implies that things will get worse before they get better. Just how bloody with the end of their journey get? The rating for Venom: The Last Dance gives us a few clues about what to expect.
The third Venom movie follows the pair as the other symbiotes arrive on Earth to consume all of humanity. To stop them, Venom and Eddie will be pushed to their absolute limits, with rumors swirling that either one or both of them won’t make it to the end credits. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has listed Venom: The Last Dance as rated 15, which is the same as the previous two movies in the series. However, the BBFC hasn’t released specific content warnings for the movie, so we can’t assume the level of violence or adult language in the film.
What is Venom: The Last Dance rated in the US then? The MPA hasn’t given an official rating even though the movie's release date is less than a month away. We expect that it will be PG-13, like both Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage were, but there have been rumors that the movie will actually be R-rated instead. Tom Hardy has said that they were allowed to “push it” with the content in the film, though he doesn’t say if that means a more adult rating for the film. To complicate matters ticketing site Fandango continues to list Venom: The Last Dance as Not Rated even as theater chains like AMC and Regal Cinemas have PG-13 listed when you purchase tickets.
What does it mean? Most likely, the movie will be PG-13 and, for whatever reason, Sony hasn't submitted a final version of the movie to the MPA for certification. Maybe they really are trying to push the envelope as far as possible with the PG-13 rating. Maybe they're just cutting it close to release date to build anticipation for fans hoping Eddie and Venom finally get the R rated ending they've always hoped for.
Either way, Venom: The Last Dance is due out on October 25, 2024.
