We can't wait for the triumphant return of Baldy Cape.

Fans of the One Punch Man anime have been desperate for news about the long-awaited third season. Despite being announced back in August 2022, there haven’t been many updates on when the third season will air or who will be involved in it. Now, at least, we can answer at least one of those questions.

Even though we still don’t have a sniff of when One Punch Man season 3 will be released, it seems like the marketing machine is finally kicking into gear. A teaser trailer was released on February 29 showcasing Hero Killer Garou’s impressive moves while confirming that many of the main cast and staff from season two will be returning for the third season. This includes J.C. Staff once again being the studio in charge of the animation.

This might be a bittersweet bit of news for anime fans, as J.C. Staff took over the animation duties for One Punch Man from Madhouse after season one to decidedly mixed reviews. Many fans felt that the animation quality of season two was much lower than the previous season and certainly not up to the standard expected from the studio that brought us Revolutionary Girl Utena, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, and A Certain Magical Index.

The good news is that the animation in the teaser trailer is beautiful and fluid, just like we expect from watching Garou fight. The announcement also included the first hero poster for the new season, featuring, of course, Saitama. A new hero poster is expected monthly to keep fans excited while we wait for them to finally settle on a release date for One Punch Man season 3.
