The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is consigned to the annals of history, just like the deities that populate the show. However, gods and goddesses have a way of coming back, so it seems likely we’ll see Percy and pals back on Disney+ soon. If that happens, when do we expect Percy Jackson and the Olympians season two to come out?
While there hasn’t been an official confirmation that Percy Jackson and the Olympians will get renewed for a second season, signs look good that a new adventure awaits our heroes in the near future. In an interview with Variety earlier this week, series co-creator and co-showrunner Jon Steinberg said that the writer’s room for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season two had been assembled, marking significant progress toward a renewal.
However, Disney still hasn’t officially greenlit more episodes of the show. They may be waiting to see how the ending plays out with fans and how the show’s viewership does over the next few weeks to justify the high cost of producing the show.
Even if we get a season two of Percy Jackson release date announcement in the next few weeks, it probably won’t tell us exactly when the new episodes will show up on the streaming service. Considering that the writer’s room has just been assembled, we wouldn’t expect to see Percy Jackson season two to air until at least late 2024, though a 2025 release date feels more likely.
