Popverse has attended and covered a lot of conventions this year, and now we're finally ready to handle some of our own programming. We are very excited to present our Popverse's first panel at this year's New York Comic Con. Traps, Tropes, and Tribulations: The Genre Comics Panel is going to be all about… well, genre!

We can't wait to sit down with some of the industry's best and brightest (who also happen to be some of our favorite) comics creators Ram V (These Savage Shores, Swamp Thing, Blue in Green), Nadia Shammas (Squire, Ms. Marvel Stretched Thin), Sara Alfageeh (Squire, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Soo Lee (Carmilla: The First Vampire, Spook-A-Rama , Amy Chu (Carmilla: The First Vampire, Red Sonja, Alpha Girl Comics) to chat about the art of telling genre stories in the comics form for a contemporary audience. This panel will be moderated by Popverse Deputy Editor Tiffany Babb (a.k.a. me).

Traps, Tropes, and Tribulations: The Genre Comics Panel will take place on Thursday October 6 at 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. EST and is currently scheduled to be in room 406.2 (if the room or time changes, we'll make sure to update it here).

So for those who love chatting about genre conventions or who just like horror and adventure and coming-of-age, make your way to the Javits Center this October! We'd be delighted to see you there.
