The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 trailer unpacked and explained by Popverse's resident Tolkien expert
Ashley Victoria Robinson tells you everything you need to know (and then some) about the latest Rings of Power trailer
Prime Video has released the first teaser for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2, but we understand that it's something that might be a little... obtuse for those who aren't well-versed in their Middle-earth lore. Thankfully, Popverse's resident Tolkien canon expert, Ashley Victoria Robinson, is here to help.
Check out the above video as Ashley offers up a live reaction to her first viewing of the trailer, and breaks down the (many, many) juicy Easter Eggs therein, uncovering all the hidden gems and secrets waiting to be discovered!
No, really: there's a lot to be seen, and Ashley sees all. (Insert your own Eyes of Sauron joke here, if you absolutely have to.)

From J.R.R. Tolkien canon-important events from the pages of The Unfinished Tales (The Fall of Númenor, the forging of the three Elven Rings and the seven Dwarf Rings, the erecting of Barad-dûr), to original storylines created for the show (Where is the Straner going? Who is Arondir teaming up with? Will Halbrand and Galadriel kiss?), this new trailer from Amazon Studios has lots of tiny details to dissect and obsess over ahead of The Rings of Power season 2's debut in late August 2024.
The current on-screen Lord of the Rings adaptation The Rings of Power stars Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Lenny Henry (Saddoc Burrows), Robert Aramayo (Elrond), Ismael Cruz Cordova (Arondir), Benjamin Walker (High King Gil-galad), and more. The first season is available to stream now, with the second season debuting August 29th.
Whether you're Shirefolk, Elven, Dwarven, or something else, there's a good reason to love Lord of the Rings. We do! With that in mind, we have a dragon's horde of goodies for you from a Lord of the Rings reading guide, a Lord of the Rings watch guide, details on the upcoming animated film Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim, a full the Lord of the Rings reunion panel you can watch, how the OG Hobbit actors stay in touch every day on a groupchat, and the true message of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, according to Gimli himself - John Rhys-Davies.
