The Marvel comic hidden in Deadpool & Wolverine's first trailer has now sold out according to the publisher, so they're printing more (a lot more, we reckon)
The secret is out on Secret Wars importance to the upcoming Marvel storylines after that Deadpool & Wolverine trailer

Less than four days after a copy of Marvel Comics' Secret Wars #5 appeared in passing in the first trailer for Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine, the publisher has informed comic book stores that that book's collected edition - Secret Wars - has sold out of all their stock.
But don't worry, athey say - they are reprinting more ahead of expected demand as more details about Deadpool & Wolverine comes out - including the movie on July 26, 2024.
Mainstream interest in Secret Wars isn't unexpected - but what caught people by surprise is how soon it was. Secret Wars was announced back in 2022 as the source text for an Avengers film coming in 2027 (Avengers: Secret Wars), but that's a ways away.
However Deadpool & Wolverine's first trailer not only showed a copy of 2015's Secret Wars #5 as an easter egg, but it was replete with throwbacks you could infer to be Secret Wars related - from the appearance of a Doctor Doom-esque menacing figure, a patchwork wasteland similiar to Secret Wars' Battleworld, and the conceit of alt-universe characters coming together.
This added up to create an apparent rush on copies of Secret Wars for Marvel, who had just reprinted the 2016 collected edition in March of 2023. They had also reprinted the original '80s Secret Wars [officially titled Marvel Super-Heroes: Secret Wars, to differentiate between the two] back in October.
While the Secret Wars comic collection is out of stock at Marvel, you can get copies now in several ways - Amazon has it in their warehouses as well as available digitally, and your local comic shop might have a collected edition or possibly even the original comics themselves for your collection.
If nothing else, maybe this shows how much comic-based movies & TV can help sell comics - especially if you work a copy of the comic itself into the movie or TV show as product placement.
