Lucasfilm has just announced that the 25th Anniversary re-release of The Phantom Menace set to roll out this May will feature an exclusive look at the new Star Wars series The Acolyte. At the end - yes, the end - of each screening of Star Wars Episode I, fans will be treated to an early sneak peek for the upcoming Disney+ series.
Tickets for the re-release of The Phantom Menace will go on sale Friday, March 22 at 9AM Pacific/12 PM Eastern, with the screenings of The Phantom Menace beginning on May 3rd, a month ahead of the two-episode June 4 premiere of The Acolyte on Disney+. The series will continue to be released with one episode debuting each week until the end of its eight episode season.
The Acolyte is a new Star Wars series created by Leslye Headland. It is set at the end of the High Republic era and before the events of the Star Wars prequels. The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
