Find out what the Dark Side smells like with these Star Wars branded scented oils
Because there is nothing Disney won't slap the Star Wars logo onto.
If you’ve got a Star Wars fan in your life who seems to have every product under the sun, we’ve got good news for you. There is a new piece of Star Wars merchandise to put under the tree and we promise they don’t already have it. Hotel Collection, who are known for providing various ways to make your house smell pretty, has teamed up with Lucasfilm and Disney to create officially branded Star Wars scented oils.
It is no secret that Star Wars merchandise is big business, but this is a bit much even for Disney. The collaboration has resulted in eight different scented oils inspired by the franchise, themed around the Dark and Light sides of the Force. If you’ve ever wondered what the Dark Side of the Force smelled like, you’re in luck – apparently, it is a mixture of Sinister Sage, Patchouli, and Saffron oils. On the other side of galactic balance, the Force itself smells like Bright Neroli, Oud Wood, and Cardamon, which is better than the musty swamp and gruel scents we expect Yoda was sporting after a decade in the Dagobah System.
There are Jedi and Sith-inspired scents, plus other vaguely named fragrances like Galactic Hope. The most questionable of the Star Wars Hotel Collection scents is The Duel, which is a mixture of Santal, Dim Amber, and Musk. Was the smell of a Death Star trash compactor already taken?
Normally, you’d have to shell out just short of $55 for each of these scented oils, but Hotel Collection currently has a sale on for Black Friday which will get you 40% off on each of the fragrances. Unfortunately, the Star Wars-branded car diffusers are both out of stock at the moment so you can’t pretend your car is the Millennium Falcon. Of course, with the amount of time Chewbacca spends in that cockpit, the Falcon probably smells distinctly like wet dog.
