Super Bowl commercials: Patrick Stewart, Jenna Ortega, and more star in the best ads (and thankfully, no Crypto or AI)

The best Super Bowl ads have football players - and Sir Patrick Stewart as a quarterback.

It's almost time - Super Bowl time. The 57th Super Bowl will take place Sunday, February 11, 2024 - pitting the San Francisco 49ers vs the Kansas City Chiefs. For some, it's about the game. For others, it's about Taylor Swift. But for all of us, it's about those commercials.

Although we're still days away from the big game, several Super Bowl LVIII commercials have been released, and we've compiled the best of the best. Come back as more are added through, and after the event.

Chris Pratt’s ‘Uncanny’ Pringles commercial

Chris Pratt is seemingly the go-to-person to be cast when you need an animated, opinionated, figure. He plays Emmet in the Lego Movie, Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Movie, is playing Garfield in the upcoming Garfield Movie, and now is seemingly channeling the Pringles mascot in the crisps brand's 2024 Super Bowl commercial.

For those asking why Pratt has a mustache in the Pringles commercial - maybe we shouldn't ask; sometimes mustaches don't need origins, just check out our thoughts on Kenneth Branagh's Poirot.

Kate McKinnon and Mayo Cat for Hellman’s

Speaking of talking cats, Kate McKinnon and her talking cat are the stars of a Super Bowl commercial that will have you wishing for a Garfield movie with McKinnon as Jon Arbuckle.

Sir Patrick Stewart Throws a Hail Arnold’ for Paramount+

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa didn't make it to the Super Bowl this year, but he's appearing in the most buzzed-about Super Bowl commercial so far. But he's far from the biggest name.

The latest in Paramount+'s series of 'Paramount Mountain' ads features an all-star cast like some modern-day Circus of the Stars, complete with an athletic feat or two. Paramount+'s Super Bowl LVIII features Sir Patrick Stewart, Drew Barrymore, Jeff Probst, Halo's Master Chief, and Arnold from Hey Arnold - all coming together in an attempt to climb to the peak of Paramount Mountain. To say anymore would spoil the surprise, so watch it above.

Jenna Ortega in ‘Where did Dinamita go?’

Pop culture's defacto 'it girl' Jenna Ortega won our hearts with her roles in Wednesday and Scream, and now she's won her first big commercial gig - hawking Doritos rebooted Dinamita snacks for the Super Bowl. In the commercial, Ortega channels a bit of her Scream character Tara Carpenter as she faces the shocking fact her local grocer is all out of Dinamitas.

Jeremy Renner ‘Feel Planty Good’ for Silk

Jeremy Renner is back from his seemingly career-ending injury, and his first big gig? Showing off some Hawkeye-esque skills in serving his daughter breakfast, in an Super Bowl commercial hyping Silk.

Martin Lawrence & Shannon Sharpe ‘Hold My Oikos’

The iconic '90s show Martin may be over, but in my mind this is a spirital sequel - don't ask why. It's Martin Lawrence and NFL legend Shannon Sharpe complaining about running their golf cart and arguing over who should get it out, all the while eating some Oikos yogurt.

Oreos change the world

If you like Drunk History, imagine Sugar High history - and that's what you have in Oreos Super Bowl ad. It revisits popular moments from history (and some made up moments), playfully showing how fateful historical moments were decided based on a twist of an Oreo and which side that mysterious filling ended up on.
