Two big Liam Neeson action movies are coming to Netflix in December
Rewatching these won't hurt.
Liam Neeson once was a respected Jedi Master in the Star Wars universe, but he chose to specialize in action flicks ever since the first Taken movie was released in 2008. 15 years later, Taken is a modern classic that gave birth to two sequels and a two-season TV series for NBC. Now, it's one of the most sought-after movies coming in and out of streaming services, and Netflix is hosting it next.
The first two (out of three) Taken movies are coming to Netflix on December 1. While the Taken movies never were deemed 'fresh' by critics, they gained quite a cult following, and they're the exact type of raw but easy-to-digest action flicks that you'll probably sit down and casually watch in their entirety whenever they're being aired on TV, so having them at hand on Netflix for a lazy Sunday afternoon sounds ideal.
In the first movie, Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is an ex-CIA officer who tries to track down his teenage daughter and her best friend after they are kidnapped by Albanian human traffickers during a vacation in France.
But of course (spoilers ahead), the conflict doesn't end in the first Taken. The sequel follows Bryan Mills taking his family to Istanbul, where they're kidnapped (along with his ex-wife) by the father of one of the men he killed while saving his daughter back in France two years prior. We won't spoil the third one here in case you haven't watched it, but things get exponentially wilder.
Take 1 and 2 are just two of the many titles that Netflix US is acquiring next month. While the streamer is now hitting it big with animes and their own movies, it's become clear over time that subscribers are also interested in having quick access to a varied and ever-changing library of shows and movies produced by other studios.
