The City of Angels has no shortage of demons, and season 8 of S.W.A.T. is set to unveil them all. The police procedural from CBS will drop this fall for its next phase of storytelling. S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore as LAPD Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. Hondo is a former Marine and lifelong resident of Los Angeles who now leads an elite unit of the LAPD. As a Black Angeleno and a cop, Hondo navigates the tensions between the two communities he is a part of.

This fall, the police procedural will return to the small screen during its Friday slot. Season 8 of S.W.A.T. will premiere on Friday, October 18 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS. The eighth season will likely see Hondo and his 20-Squad team facing challenges like never before.

S.W.A.T.’s journey on television has been unusual. The show has been canceled twice by CBS, once after its sixth season, and another time after its seventh season. S.W.A.T.’s seventh season was originally intended to be its final one, but only a couple months after the premiere of its seventh season, an eighth season was announced for the show. What S.W.A.T.’s fate will be after the end of its eighth season remains to be seen.

S.W.A.T. season 8 will premiere on Friday, October 18 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS.
