For more than two decades, Adult Swim has been one of the biggest names in animation, but that doesn't mean they don't go small too. Since 2018, the Adult Swim SMALLS program has worked with up-and-coming animators to showcase new talent and highlight new voices in animation, and we have the latest for you right here, exclusively on Popverse.
This latest short comes from Dylan Woodley, who recently introduced the only slightly terrifying Grumby to the world. This time around, however, it’s less about introductions, and more about departures — especially permanent ones. Part of Woodley’s Dreamers series, ‘Goodbye Forever’ is a catchy final farewell to… well, watch for yourself, and you’ll see.
Adult Swim’s official description for ‘Goodbye Forever’ is simply, “Meet Pongo. Now say goodbye to Pongo. Forever.”
(Adult Swim does issue the following disclaimer for the video, however: “The following short contains subject matter related to suicide and mental health that may be upsetting for some viewers.” Please bear that in mind before watching.)
The video is written and directed by Woodley, with lyrics for the song written by Woodley and music by AJ Holmes and Woodley. The cast for the short features Marshall Arkley, Maddy Bye, Marina Bye, AJ Holmes, Olga Koch, Alyssa Leighton, Viggo Venn, Mark Wilcox, and Dylan Woodley.
