The breakout character from Star Wars: Andor season 1 is going to disappoint fans by being her true, evil self in the show's final outing
Fans of Imperial officer Dedra might be upset when she goes from frustrated 'girl boss' to an outright fascist, according to the actor who plays her

Fans might have taken to Andor’s ambitious Imperial officer Dedra in the first season of the critically acclaimed Star Wars series, but the actor behind the character has a warning for Dedra fandom ahead of the show’s second and final outing: just remember that she’s one of the bad guys.
Talking during the Andor panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan, Denise Gough told fans, “Dedra really shows herself [in the new season]. It was much darker this season. It wasn’t so ‘girl boss,’ it was much more fascist this season.”
While the reveal of Dedra’s true colors is likely to upset those who saw her as an overly ambitious worker in an uptight office environment in the first season — you know who you are — it’ll be interesting to see how fans are going to react when it’s made clear that Dedra has always been one of the more dangerous characters in Andor, purely because she is such a believer in what the Empire stands for... and perhaps the only thing she stands for. As she put it in a recent interview, “She kind of denies herself trying to get to a point where she could be really intimate with somebody because her boyfriend is the Empire.”
That said, expect to find out some more about who Dedra is beyond her allegiance to fascism in the show’s second season as well, with the actor telling the crowd, “We find out where Dedra comes from this season, a little bit about who she is… things get real strange.”
Strange enough that Dedra might end up breaking her loyalties and joining the Rebellion…? Probably not, but there’s a fanbase out there that is probably hoping it could happen anyway.
Andor season 2 begins on Disney+ with three episodes dropping April 22.
