Soap operas take on a life of their own. Currently, there are 62 seasons of General Hospital, 51 seasons of The Young and The Restless, and 37 seasons of The Bold and the Beautiful. Needless to say, it's rare when a major network like CBS unveils an entirely new soap opera. As such, Beyond the Gates is the first new daytime broadcast soap opera in years.

Beyond the Gates will premiere on February 24, 2025 at 2 PM ET/ 1 PM PT on CBS and Paramount+. It will air on weekdays during that time slot as well. CBS has released a trailer for the series, which you can watch below.

The show is about an affluent Black American community in Maryland, outside of Washington D.C. Beneath the neat veneer of large houses and green lawns is a world of scandal and drama within this gated community. The Dupree family is at the center of it all, and it's only a matter of time before their secrets come to light.

In the trailer, we can see lavish houses, luxury vehicles, and one woman confronting a man with a golf putter. The putter is an intriguing choice as a weapon, as it lacks the heft of a 9 iron but is much more rigid than a driver. Still, a putter is longer than a sand wedge, giving her more reach. Will Beyond the Gates have more scenes featuring improved melee weapons? I certainly hope so, but we won't know until the show begins airing. Given that it is a soap opera after all, it's still possible that a putter won't be the only golf club used on the show.

Beyond the Gates will premiere on February 24, 2025 at 2 PM ET / 1 PM PT on CBS and Paramount+.
