Daredevil: Born Again's mid-season trailer just teased an insane Bullseye moment from Marvel Comics

Maybe we're wrong, but we feel like we've seen Bullseye flash that bloody grin in a 2004 comic before we saw it in the latest Daredevil: Born Again trailer

Spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again season 1.

For all the history the character has with Daredevil, we haven't seen much of Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again just yet. Sure, he appeared in one hell of an opening - not only did he take part in the most intense fight scene of the show yet, but he killed Foggy Nelson - but his controversial costume and very brief screen time has left fans a little underwhelmed. However, if the midseason trailer for Daredevil: Born Again is to be believed, we're about to experience a particularly brutal Bullseye moment, one that comes straight from Marvel Comics.

Before we explain what we mean, check out that trailer for yourself:

Now that you've seen the trailer in full, go ahead and rewind to the 0:42 mark, a screenshot of which you can see above. In this frame, we see Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye in both this series and its Netflix predecessor, with a tooth missing from his upper gum. Look even closer and you'll see that Mr. Benjamin Poindexter is holding that same tooth just in front of his tongue.

Sure, the image might not mean anything to casual viewers, but to longtime Bullseye comics readers, it should be very familiar.

In the 2004 comic Bullseye: Greatest Hits, written by Daniel Way and drawn by Steve Dillon, Bullseye finds himself imprisoned, just like his MCU counterpart at the current moment of Daredevil: Born Again. To keep Bullseye from making a deadly projectile weapon out of anything, his hands are kept in a fully-enclosed pair of hand shackles (again, much like the one we saw him sporting in the trial sceen of episode 1).

However, this is Bullseye that we're talking about, and you know that he's going to figure out a way to launch something at his adversaries. That moment in the comic comes up when, after a beating from an angry guard, Bullseye presents a cruel smile, revealing his dislodged tooth. Before the guard knows what's happening, Bullseye powerfully (and I'll say it, hysterically) spits the tooth from out of his mouth and into the brain of the unsuspecting guard. After this moment, Bullseye's escape from his imprisonment is ensured.

We could be wrong in insinuating that Daredevil: Born Again is going to replicate this trickiest of Bullseye's trick shots from Marvel Comics. Then again, go ahead and pull up the trailer one more time. See Bullseye's smile grow across his face?

That sure seems like he's about to have the upper hand to me.

Daredevil: Born Again airs new episodes Tuesday nights on Disney+.
