Does Daredevil kill someone in Born Again? Marvel Studios new trailer might just suggest yes

Redemption and retribution are all over Disney+'s first trailer for Marvel's Daredevil: Born Again. And so are Muse, Punisher, a little Bullseye, and... wait, is that really...?

Marvel Studios' first official trailer for Daredevil: Born Again is here. We're going to discuss everything we get to see in it in just a moment, but first, take a look at Charlie Cox FINALLY back in the suit for yourself:

Want to take a moment to process that before we move on? Go ahead, we'll be here.

Good now? Great, let's dive in.

There are a litany of tantalizing teases in this latest trailer for fans of the original Daredevil series. Jon Bernthal is back as (a possibly in-hiding?) Frank Castle, AKA the Punisher. Wilson Bethel is back (but in chains) as Benjamin Poindexter, AKA Bullseye. We got a gratuitous amount of Muse in the above 120 seconds, in fact, we even got to see him working on his characteristic graffiti. Then there's this guy:

Hold on a damn minute, is that White Tiger?? The necklace the character is wearing certainly points to yes, though I suppose it could be the series faking us out. Either way, it's a dang smorgasbord of street-level Marvel characters in there, to say nothing of the fact that we get to see Matt interacting with Karen, Foggy, and Wilson Fisk again.

But perhaps the most interesting thing about this trailer is just how dark it goes, a sign that the cast and creators weren't kidding when they called it one of the darkest things Disney+ has done yet. Bones break, blood is spilled, and as Matt Murdock cryptically confirms, "a line was crossed." What that means right now is anyone's guess, but we have a theory.

In Chip Zdarsky's Daredevil run (2019-2021) a major plot point is that, during the course of a fight, Daredevil hits a goon too hard, and they eventually die from their injuries. Is that bit of the storyline being adapted in the upcoming Disney+ show? After all, though we do see a bunch of Muse in this trailer, we mostly see him in a (brutal) fight with the devil of Hell's Kitchen. Is it possible that Daredevil will kill Muse before the events of the show, leading to his confirmed "retirement" that the show begins with?

We don't know, but we bet that the line that is crossed that Matt Murdock talks about has something to do with a fatality. After all, in order to be Born Again, someone has to die.

Daredevil: Born Again starts streaming March 4 on Disney+.
