Doctor Odyssey: Here's when Ryan Murphy's new drama series is being released
It's time to hit the waves with Ryan Murphy this fall.

Ryan Murphy has left an enormous footprint in twenty-first century television, and his work isn't finished yet. The creator of American Horror Story and Glee is back with a new drama on ABC called Doctor Odyssey. If you've ever seen a cruise ship and wondered what on earth happens when a passenger or crew member falls ill, then Ryan Murphy has all the answers for you. Doctor Odyssey is about Max, the leader of a small medical team about a cruise ship. Joshua Jackson stars as the titular doctor, and he's joined by Don Johnson. Don Johnson plays the captain of the cruise ship that Joshua Jackson's Max Bankman is the medical officer on.
Luckily, if my cruise ship question is haunting you, you won't have to wait very long before getting your answers. Doctor Odyssey has its series premiere on Thursday, September 26 on ABC. You can also stream the show on Hulu. See, if you're also traveling by cruise when the show premieres, you can still watch it on your own device with Hulu. Ah, the convenience of contemporary life.
Don't think that just because the setting is on a cruise ship that Doctor Odyssey will be a pedestrian affair. No, Jackson described Doctor Odyssey as "all about escapism, lust at sea, and life or death medical emergencies." This is a Ryan Murphy project after all, so characters will probably be fighting for their lives. Good! I could use some excitement around here.
Doctor Odyssey premieres Thursday, September 26 on ABC and Hulu.
