In the upcoming prequel spinoff series Dune: Prophecy, viewers will be transported back to the very beginning of the franchise’s history. Set 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 Dune, the show’s narrative recounts the origins of the Bene Gesserit. This fabled sect is known for undergoing intense mental and physical training so as to acquire superhuman abilities.

Dune: Prophecy, originally called “Dune: Sisterhood,” is based on two books. The first is the original 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert. And the second is 2012’s Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
