Witness the rise of the Bene Gesserit in new teaser for Dune: Prophecy

Set millennia before Dune Parts 1 and 2, the prequel to the biggest space opera in recent cinematic history debuts on Max in November

If you've read or seen any pieces of the Dune franchise, you know that the Bene Gesserit are far more than a perfect syllabic match to "Benny and the Jets" (do with that what you will, though). They are a powerful, history-making sect of masterminds and magic users, and this fall, Max invites you to explore their history in Dune: Prophecy. Check out the latest trailer for the series below.

If you're interested in learning more, check out Popverse's Dune explainer for an in-depth look at what's coming. But since you're here, here's a quick run-down:

Set over 10,000 years before the events witnessed in Dune: Parts 1 and 2, Prophecy will follow two Harkonnen sisters, Valya and Tula, who establish the infamous group of psychic women that play such an important role in the universe Frank Herbert created. In the teaser above, we get a brand new look at Emily Watson and Olivia Williams as those sisters.

Also, at the end of the trailer, we get the biggest hint yet at an exact release date for Dune: Prophecy. While we've been operating under the knowledge that the series will hit HBO's streaming service in the fall of 2024, we now know that the debut event is set for November. Do we have an exact date? No, but we'll take what little info we can get.

Keep an eye on Popverse for all the Dune: Prophecy news that's sure to come out in the coming months. For now, Denis Villeneuve's Dune Parts 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Max.
