Amazon Prime Video's Fourth Wing TV show has found its dragon rid-- err, we mean, showrunner

From Breaking Bad to breaking dragons - the live-action Fourth Wing TV series has found its boss

A dragon without its rider is a tragedy, so it's a good thing the soon-to-be romantasy dragon rider show Fourth Wing from Amazon Prime Video now has a showrunner.

Breaking Bad writer (and Annie With An E creator) Moira Walley-Beckett has been hired to steer the live-action adaptation of Rebecca Yarros' hit prose novel saga 'The Empyrean'. Titled Fourth Wing (after the first book in the series), the live-action adaptation is being produced by Michael B. Jordan.

Fourth Wing stars a young woman named Violet Sorrengail, who is pulled from her plans of a quiet life to enroll in an elite military school like her mother. But its no normal military school - it's a dragon-riding college named the Basgiath War College.

This news comes as a third book in 'The Empyrean' series, Onyx Storm, is on its way, with plans for two more after that.

Popverse's Veronica Valencia hosted an hour-long Rebecca Yarros panel at Emerald City Comic Con earlier this year, which you can watch now.
