Ghosts adds two new actors to cast this season

Not only is there a new ghost in town, we're going to meet Sam's dad!

The best part of CBS's supernatural sitcom Ghosts is the fun and wacky cast. Not only is the show anchored by two central comedic performances from Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar, there's an entire houseful of ghosts for them to manage. With this upcoming new season 4, there's going to be two additions to the cast, one ghostly and one more distinctly alive.

At the Ghosts panel at San Diego Comic-Con's Ballroom 20, the show's co-showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman announced that the new ghost Patience, who was teased at the end of season 3, will be played by comedian Mary Holland. We know, from last season's teases, that Patience is an intense Puritan, but she's not your regular old Puritan. Apparently, Wiseman likes to describe as Patience as "kicked out of her Puritan Village for being a bit too much."

The second announced addition to the cast is Breaking Bad's Dean Norris as Sam's dad. Apparently, Sam's dad will be grouchy and "no-nonsense," and we'll learn a little more about Sam's story through her dad's appearance.

Ghosts season 4 is currently filming and will premiere on CBS on October 17, just in time for Halloween.
