The tasty secret behind the most cannibalistic of meals in NBC's Hannibal, according to Mads Mikkelsen
The food on the drama series look exquisite, but how did it taste? Hannibal Lecter himself explains.
Popverse's top stories of the day3
In the NBC's crime horror drama Hannibal, Dr. Hannibal Lecter is responsible for many gruesome murders in Minnesota, but when it comes to his meals, the cannibal keeps it classy, and makes sure to prepare some of the most lavish and elegantly styled food imaginable. While the [human] meals looked exquisite on screen, it begs the question, "Were the on-screen meals actually tasty? Did the actors enjoy eating the food on set?" The short answer is, yes!
In an appearance at Chicago's C2E2 2024, Mikkelsen answers that exact question, and even explained how the food was so good on set, the cast would seize the opportunity to have as much of it as possible.
"They were serving us Foie Gras," begins Mikkelsen. "We just loved it so much that Laurence [Fishburne] deliberately f***ed up his lines a few times. We had to reshoot it."
