Evangelion director Hideaki Anno will stop working when he is dead, as he is currently writing 5 different screenplays (and wants to take on 6th)

The man is a multitasking pro and we're just in awe of the drive and creativity of him.

It can be difficult to understand the creative drive of some of our favorite creators. Hideaki Anno, who is the director of the iconic Neon Genesis Evangelion series and the films it spawned, has been busy releasing Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX and is working on a new Space Battleship Yamato anime. But Anno isn’t just putting us to shame with his production schedule – he’s multitasking like a boss by working on five (yes five!) different scripts at the moment.

The news came in a social media post by Khara, the studio that Hideaki Anno founded after Gainax stopped paying people for their work and eventually went bankrupt in the most public way. “As of today, I am currently working on voice recording and writing screenplays for five different works,” Anno wrote in the post. However, he’s still not content with his workload, adding “But if the Shin Kamen Rider: Kamen no Sekai [Masked World] project is green-lit, I would also like to work hard on it as a sixth project.”

The thing is, Hideaki Anno doesn’t have to do any of this – he could have retired 15 years ago and still have been one of the greatest and most influential anime directors of all time. The fact that he looks at his legacy with Neon Genesis Evangelion and thinks, “I can do more,” is astounding, even if we’re already exhausted just reading about how many projects he is juggling right now. We can't even make bacon without forgetting it is on the stove, and this man is out there putting us all to shame.
