Listening to Eminem helps him prepare for some of his biggest scenes.

Do you ever wonder where King Aegon II gets his intensity from? Apparently, it’s Eminem.

House of the Dragon is filled with plenty of intense scenes. Each episode of the Game of Thrones prequel contains betrayal, political intrigue, dragons, and violence. As viewers, it can be exciting to watch, but I can’t help but wonder how the actors get into the headspace.

Speaking to a crowd at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, King Aegon actor Tom Glynn-Carney revealed his secret – a killer playlist. “I have a full Aegon playlist. I might make it public at some point,” Glynn-Carney revealed.

At first Glynn-Carney was cagey about the contents of the lists, but as the moderator and audience threw out various artists, he revealed if they were on the playlist. “Yeah, I have Nirvana. Of course. There is so many. It depends on what day it was, and what mood he [Aegon] had to be in for those scenes.”

“A lot of Eminem. That’s the range we’re talking. It’s all dependent on what the scene needed,” he continued. He asked the crowd for some suggestions, and various names were shouted out, including Nine Inch Nails. That name reminded him of another band on the playlist. “Stiff Little Fingers. It’s 80s punk stuff,” he added.

That’s all he was willing to give away. However, that’s more than enough names to build your own King Aegon II playlist. After all, everyone needs some good jams, whether they’re an average citizen or a royal sociopath.
