The Hunting Party explores a simple question: how do you go about finding a group of escaped serial prisoners?

One serial killer is bad enough. Personally, just one is enough for me to say, "No thank you" and vanish into the ether while the Windows XP log-off sound plays. Now imagine that there is an entire secret prison full of them, effectively containing evil in one single location, and that prison gets broken into. With the formerly incarcerated serial killers now running wild in society, it's up to a group of investigators to round them back up again. It's just like herding cats, I would imagine.
The Hunting Party will premiere on NBC on Sunday, January 19 at 7 PM ET/PT following the NFL game with the Philadelphia Eagles. This first episode will also be available to watch on Peacock the next day. From there, the show will air in its regular weekly time slot on Monday, February 10. You can watch a trailer for the show below.
The Hunting Party stars Melissa Roxburgh, who you might recognize from her roles in Manifest and Tracker. She is joined by Nick Wechsler (Chicago PD), Patrick Sabongui (The Flash), Josh McKenzie (La Brea), and Sara Garcia (The Flash). Roxburgh plays an investigator by the name of Rebecca Henderson, not to be confused with the actress Rebecca Henderson, who played Jedi Vernestra Rwoh on The Acolyte.
The premise of The Hunting Party is reminiscent of DC Comics' Infinite Frontier era, which began when Arkham Asylum was blown up. The surviving Arkham inmates ran loose throughout Gotham, and the gravity of these events was explored in Dan Watters and Dani's excellent miniseries, Arkham City: The Order of the World. So if The Hunting Party is your cup of tea, why not supplement your watch with a read of Arkham City?
The Hunting Party will debut on January 19 at 7 PM ET/PT on NBC.
