The Invincible cartoon's fans are "going to be so wrong" if you expect it to follow the comics exactly, says Robert Kirkman

Don't rely too much on what you know

Invincible fans have been waiting patiently for new updates about the upcoming third season of the Prime Video show. Though there was a sneak peek of Mark's new blue suit, there still hasn't been a release date announcement. In the long wait between seasons, fans are probably digging back into their long boxes to see what they can expect from season 3 according to the comics.
While fans can probably expect to see many of the same beats in the comic as in the upcoming series, Robert Kirkman warns fans not to expect a one-to-one adaptation.
At his San Diego Comic-Con panel, in response to a fan question about the next season, Kirkman responded, "Are you uh assuming that you know what's coming in the next season based on your awareness of of the comic book series? You're gonna be so wrong, sometimes. Sometimes you'll be a little surprised, sometimes you'll be disappointed. Um, sometimes every place a little surprise, sometimes you'll be disappointed. Mostly you'll be blown away."
So just because you've read Invincible, that doesn't mean you know what's coming next in the Invincible show. But that's part of the fun - being along for the ride.
