In Rings of Power season 2, viewers are invited to return to Middle-earth once more. Based primarily on the appendices of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the story is set millenia before Middle-earth’s Second Age. Directed by Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Louise Hooper and with a score composed by Bear McCreary, the seasons sees the Dark Lord Sauron gaining power and creating additional Rings.

Between filming Rings of Power seasons 1 and 2, the production moved from New Zealand to the United Kingdom. Most of the show’s international cast returned for the sophomore season.
