Charlie Cox reveals that he still reads Marvel’s Daredevil comics, and there’s one detail that always makes him smile
There’s a detail in Daredevil comics that gives Charlie Cox faith in his job security.
Charlie Cox loves reading Daredevil comics. The actor got hooked on them when he was first cast for the 2015 Netflix series, and he hasn’t put them down since. Originally, he read them for research, but now it’s entertainment. However, there is one detail in the comics that makes Cox feel comfortable with his job security.
Speaking to a crowd at Tampa Bay Comic Convention, Cox opened up about how grateful he was to be back for Daredevil: Born Again, and his love for the comics.
“It’s hard to imagine anything even coming close to this experience,” Cox mused. “This has been such an honor and my life and my career. For it to still be happening, it’s quite fun. I’ve read so many of the comics back in 2014 when I got the job. I’m still reading them, and it’s comforting when I come to a run where Daredevil is drawn and written in his forties. Then I’m like, ‘Great, I can still do this for a living.’ I think if I was playing Spider-Man I would be like, ‘Oh shit.’ I think this is one of the dream roles. I’m aware of that and I’m often pinching myself. I don’t think it gets better than this. Long may it continue.”
Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ in March 2025.
