Charlie Cox's favorite day on Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again set? The day Frank Miller came to visit

If you’re a fan of the Netflix Daredevil series, and you’re looking forward to Daredevil: Born Again, then you could probably thank Frank Miller.

Even if you’ve never read his work or even know his name, his DNA is all over the MCU version of Daredevil. The legendary writer and artist co-created many iconic staples of Daredevil lore, including Elektra, Stick, and the Hand. He’s also the first comic creator to pit Daredevil up against the Kingpin. In fact, the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again is named after one of Miller’s critically acclaimed Daredevil storylines.

He may not be a showrunner of the series, but you could almost consider him the godfather. Is it any wonder he was invited to the set? During a spotlight panel at Fan Expo San Francisco 2024, Cox was asked about his favorite memory during the filming of Daredevil: Born Again. Cox didn’t have to think about his answer.

“On the last day of filming of the season we just completed, Frank Miller came to set. I was filming with Jon Bernthal, so it’s me in the Daredevil costume, Jon in the Punisher costume, and we’re chatting with Frank Miller.”

This is fitting, since Frank Miller wrote and illustrated Daredevil #181-184, one of the most iconic Daredevil versus Punisher stories of all time. If Born Again is drawing inspiration from those comics, then we’re in for a really exciting show.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
