Charlie Cox teases what happened in the seven-year time jump between the Netflix Daredevil series and the MCU Born Again
Charlie Cox has had conversations with Marvel about what Daredevil has been up to since his Netflix show ended in 2018

In 2018 the curtain closed on Daredevil’s Netflix series. This year, Marvel’s vigilante will be making his return on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again premieres this March, chronicling Matt Murdock’s mission to fight crime in Hell’s Kitchen.
The question is, where has he been for the last seven years? We know about his dalliance with She-Hulk, his fight against Echo, and his legal help to Spider-Man. However, that only covers a small section of the past 7 years.
It turns out Charlie Cox has these same questions. In fact, the Daredevil actor has discussed Murdock’s missing years with Marvel. Speaking to a crowd at Scotland Comic Con, Cox discussed the transition between the Netflix show and Born Again.
“Essentially, it’s the same character. What the writers have done was they’ve written quite a big time jump. From when we finish in 2018 to where we pick up in Born Again, there’s a bit of a time jump. I had long conversations with them about what’s happened in between, other than what we know.”
“We know he went to LA and had a fling with She-Hulk, and we know that there was some Spider-Man stuff, but then obviously you have to use your imagination to figure out what’s been going on in his life, what’s been happening in New York, and kind of incorporate those experiences into who the character is when we met him at the beginning of the new season. Essentially, he’s the same guy. He looks very similar to the old character, a little bit older.”
I’m dying to know what Marvel told Cox in those conversations. What did Daredevil do during the Blip? How has his law practice fared? Perhaps we’ll get these answers in the new series.
Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on March 4, 2025.
