Vincent D’Onofrio slyly hints that Daredevil: Born Again will be adapting a certain Marvel storyline besides 'Born Again'
Daredevil: Born Again could be an adaptation of Devil’s Reign

The Man Without Fear is returning to television, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Daredevil: Born Again is an upcoming series from Marvel Studios, which will serve as a sequel to the critically acclaimed Netflix series. We know that Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and many of their Daredevil castmates will be back. However, we still don’t have a lot of information about the plot.
The title indicates that it will draw elements from the Frank Miller storyline Born Again, although it’s worth noting that the 2015 Netflix series already did its own take on the story. The Disney+ series Echo ended with Wilson Fisk considering a run for mayor of New York City, so it seems likely that will be part of the plotline. Aside from that, it’s all speculation.
However, Vincent D’Onofrio may have given us a hint at what the plotline could be. During a panel at Dragon Con, D’Onofrio was asked if he would be interested in playing Kingpin in an adaptation of Devil’s Reign, a comic book storyline where Kingpin becomes mayor and uses the power of his office to launch war on the street-level heroes.
While D’Onofrio’s answer didn’t confirm plans for this storyline, his non-answer gave some big hints that were hard to ignore.
“That’s a very interesting question,” D’Onofrio cautiously said. “I cannot answer that because we have a new season coming out of Daredevil.”
The audience made some audible gasps, clearly picking up on the hint. In case there was any doubt, D’Onofrio added another clue. “I’m sure you get it. Otherwise, I would just flap my lips for the next thirty minutes and it would be so much fun, but that’s not happening.”
Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. We’ll find out then if we’re getting a live-action version of Devil’s Reign.
